Central Hua Hin

Central Hua Hin starts at the Centara Grand Hotel and Hilton Hotel, and stretches south down Phetkasem Road to Chiva Som Resort, which borders the town of Khao Takiab. This part of the beach is a very wide coastal strip, so you can almost always walk on the beach without having to worry about running out of space to walk on due to the incoming tide, and will have even more room to walk as the tide goes out. The sea and beach are very clean in this area, and the entire coastline is lined with cafes and restaurants that offer a variety of food and drink, from European to local Thai cuisine. There are also hundreds, if not thousands of lounge chairs and beach umbrellas available for rental from an hour, to the full day, for very cheap.

In the central part of the Hua Hin are the two best private hospitals in the city; Bangkok Hospital and São Paulo Hospital. Bangkok Hospital is one of the best in Thailand, and many people come from around the world for medical tourism for their World Class medical and dental care, and cheap prices (much cheaper compared to European or American Hospitals, with more or less the same level of care).

There are several large shopping centers and supermarkets: Blue Port, Market Village, and Villa Market, and two night markets: the Grand Market and Chatchai Night Market. There are also countless cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, electronic stores, motor bike rentals, and massage parlors.

If you are a fan of kite surfing, there are several schools in the area near the Intercontinental Hotel to choose from. One of the best advantages of this area is the cheap and easy to use modes of transportation: Here you can easily catch the green or white Songteow (extended pick-up truck taxis), and go anywhere up or down Phetkasem Road for very cheap, or easily flag down a Tuk-Tuk to bring you somewhere specific off the main road for just a little bit more cost.

Considering all these factors, the real estate in the center of Hua Hin is a little more expensive than in other parts of the city. Popular condos in this area are: Baan San Ploen, Baan Sandao, and Marrakesh.
